Your privacy choices

Every control Aubergenie gives you over your information, in one place. Each one is in the app itself; none needs a web form.

Delete your Aubergenie account

Open Settings and scroll to the end: Delete Account appears while you are signed in. This removes your account record from our server along with everything linked to it, including any recipe response still inside its temporary recovery window. The recipes, shopping list and plan on your devices and in your iCloud are kept. It cannot be undone.

Turn off every AI feature

The Aubergenie AI switch at the top of Settings. Off removes every entry point that sends content to our server: Create a Recipe, Add from Photo, Aubergenie reading or tidying a website, and Change This Recipe. Importing, writing, planning, shopping, cooking and sharing carry on as usual. Recipes Aubergenie already made for you are kept and remain editable. While you stay signed in, the app still checks your session with our server when it opens; sign out to stop that too.

Remove Aubergenie from Sign in with Apple

Deleting your account removes it from our server. To also take Aubergenie off the list of apps using your Apple Account, go to your device's Settings › Apple Account › Sign in with Apple and remove it there.

Sign out

Settings › Account › Sign Out. Ends the session on that device. Your account and its usage record remain, so signing back in returns you to them.

Cooking preferences

Settings › Cooking Preferences. Allergies, diet, dislikes, appliances and servings are optional, stay on the device you set them on, and are sent with a request only when you ask Aubergenie to write or change a recipe. Clear them there to stop sending them.

Your name on recipes

Settings › Sharing › Your Name on Recipes. Your name goes only on recipes you make up yourself, only when you add it, and travels with a share only when Include My Name is on under Share. Removing your name there takes it off every recipe in one step; copies you've already sent keep it.

Keep things off iCloud

Recipes sync through your own private iCloud database, which we cannot read; the shopping list and plan through your iCloud account's key-value store. To stop, turn iCloud off for Aubergenie in your device's Settings; Settings › Where Things Are Kept in the app shows the result. To remove the data from iCloud, delete it under iCloud in your Apple Account settings.

Access, correction, deletion, objection and portability

If you are in the UK or the EU you can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, deleted or restricted, object to how it is processed, or ask for it in a portable form. For Aubergenie that is a short list: an account identifier, the email address Apple gave the app at first sign-in, sessions, usage counts, content-free request records with their one-way fingerprints, any recipe response inside its two-hour recovery window and any photo analysis kept for the same purpose, and after deletion the one-way fingerprint of your Apple ID described in the policy. Write to privacy@aubergenieapp.com; the reply comes within one month. If you are unhappy with the answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Tracking and advertising

There is nothing to opt out of. Aubergenie has no advertising, no tracking, no third-party analytics and no data brokers, in the app or on this website. This site sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies.
